Bing's Internal Data Reveals Shopping Behaviors During Holiday Rush

By EXCLUSIVE team

Data collected by Bing reveals new ways consumers shop during the holidays. The two biggest shopping days of the year — Black Friday and Cyber Monday — inspire shoppers to start early, around 6 a.m. and midnight respectively. According to Bing’s data, 55 percent of Black Friday shoppers used their mobile devices to check the in-store availability of an item, so retailers should ramp up their mobile presence for the holidays, if they want to eat into the large contingent of potential brick-and-mortar shoppers.

The data also shows that shoppers search for phrases like “coupons” more often during November and less often throughout December, whereas searches containing the word “delivery” spike towards the end of December. So, make sure you adjust accordingly. For a more in-depth breakdown of this story, visit Search Engine Watch.
