Cyber Monday topped Black Friday in online shopping. Here are the numbers:

E-commerce sites had 15% more traffic on Cyber Monday than on Black Friday

27.7 million people shopped online on Monday

Top shopping sites:
eBay led the way with 9.48 million hits on Friday and 11.67 million on Monday

Amazon came in second with 4.64 million hits on Friday and 5.58 million on Monday

Wal-Mart Stores was third with 3.40 million Friday and 3.10 million on Monday

The term “Cyber Monday?? was coined just this year by the National Retail Federation, but a Google search already comes up with over 6 million instances of the term on the web.

Visits to online retail sites on Monday increased 50% compared to a month ago and 20% compared to the previous Monday

Non-travel spending online rose 26% compared to last year, reaching $485 million (comScore)

comScore also estimates that non-travel online spending will exceed $19 billion in November and December this year, 24% more than in 2004.
