Looks like Google has begun testing a service that will place ads in print publications. Google will be acting as the broker between their clients and selected print media. Advertisers will be able to use text and images and select the print publication based on demographics, circulation and pricing. Given the fall off in print advertising this should provide Google with lots of leverage.
Google profits on the ad placement and drives lots of new advertisers to needy print media. Sounds like a win-win initially. If this becomes a large source of advertsing revenue for the print publication they will become very beholding to Google.
