RSS and Banner Ads get married

Newsgator ( the RSS tools vendor), and Edelmann ( the large global PR firm) are teaming up to create “Hosted Conversations.”

Why is this interesting? It’s a recognition that brands are not totally controlled by their corporate owner. The approach is to tie the traditional banner ad into news feeds and blog posts that will invite community particpation, under the sponsorship of the brand owner.
